I was browsing www.houzz.com (a home décor site that I love) and was inspired by this décor idea featured on the site. I loved the simplicity of a single branch in a large glass vase. It seemed so European chic to me. I set out right away to find a large glass vase that I could use to hold branches or large flower stems in my living room. The image on the right is my version.

Green glass
A new found love of mine are demijohns...large glass bottles used to make and store wine. Mine serves a more decorative purpose. I don't believe you can have too many so my search continues for more. I also love green glass and my small collection brings such a warmth to my dining room.

Mini Lavender Field
Since a trip to France last summer, I have been in love with lavender. Wanting to bring Provence closer to home, I planted some lavender plants in my backyard in urban Denver. Now I have my own mini lavender field.

A Wine Crate for Lavender
Welcome to my blog! My husband (Mr. H) and I moved into a Victorian bungalow this previous fall and since then I've been busy turning it into a home we'll never want to leave. I love home decor, antiquing, DIY projects and international travel and wanted to share my loves with all of you.
For my first post I thought I'd share a project that showcased some of my current obsessions...lavender, wine crates, France, and colored glass bottles. Mr. H helped feed my obsessions by making this box to hold my lavender in the bathroom. He went to a wine shop and asked if they had any wooden wine crates for sale and came home with this one! He cut the sides down and created a box that was just the right size. The fact that the wine crate is from a French wine makes it all the more perfect.
